Martinborough Coffee Company is an artisan coffee company roasting fine boutique coffee. All coffee blends are freshly roasted in small batches in a back industrial shed in the CBD of Martinborough

Bullrush Blend is an exciting blend of Mexican and Peruvian coffees, two super juicy, fruit forward crops harmonise into a blend that’s bursting with flavours of stone fruit and butterscotch, backed up with a creamy marshmallow body. A versatile roast suited to all brew methods.

Hopschotch is a blend of Colombian and Nicaragua coffees. The most refreshing and delicate coffee on our menu, pomegranate sweetness is supported by lemon zest and red apple, well-balanced, full bodied and complex. A great everyday cup.

Boutique Pinot Barrell Aged Coffee is a Honduras blend. The blend of green beans are aged for 12 weeks in Local Martinborough Pinot Noir dry barrels before roasting. This partnership aims to infuse the chocolatey coffee flavours with subtle hints of poignant fruit notes, creating a coffee packed with flavour.

Available in 250g and as Beans or Ground for Espresso or Plunger.

About John

John reclaims and repurposes old timbers to create functional art - combining edgy industrial elements that reflect the past. He has a deep respect for the environment and believes in the importance of preserving natural resources.

John’s current work is created using reclaimed timbers from agricultural or industrial sources, and Wellington’s old wharves – particularly the recently restored Days Bay Wharf.

“ I try to create functional art that is sympathetic with the past, with every bolt, wire, nail hole, and carpenter’s mark reflecting the story of the wood, the job it has done, and those whose skills have crafted, worked and shaped it. “

Each handcrafted item is unique and comes with its own story - a testament to John’s passion for working with wood to preserve a sense of history.

About Sally

Genuine New Zealand Sea Glass

Sally handmakes everything using sea glass collected locally from the beaches here in Wellington. The glass has been rumbled by the ocean for years giving it the beautiful smooth edges and frosty appearance.

Sally has always collected seaglass and during lockdown, turned her passion for collecting sea glass into creating beautiful jewellery and gifts.

Sally hails from England and moved to Wellington with her Wellington-born husband and daughters in 2015.

Sallys' happy place is the beach, and in any season, you'll find her there at least once a week, come Wellington rain or shine!

At Martinborough Coffee Company, coffee is handcrafted in small batches, blending ethically sourced, 100% Organic Arabica beans. Only sourcing high-quality coffee beans from around the globe and accomplish an excellent roasted coffee that is consistent in flavour. The approach to roasting is to fully develop all flavours, with the aim being to highlight what makes our coffee unique.

Philosophy

The business of brewing and consuming coffee is captivating. It has become far too easy in our consumer culture for us to forget that coffee is a fruit, a crop that is grown by hard-working farmers. If handled properly at origin, coffee has the potential to be respected and treated like a fine wine. We have a very simple coffee philosophy, ‘Let The Coffee Shine’.
